Ultimate Steinway

400 megabytes of stereo piano samples, Kurzweil native CD ROM media, and jewel case. All sounds are fully keymaped, velocity switched, and ready to play. Individual pianos range between 37 and 112 megabytes in size.

Keyboard players who have tried various sampled pianos often feel that something is missing. Quite often these samples sound overly processed and lack the piano's characteristic woody quality, dynamic response, timbral variety, and natural decay. Our collection was intended to meet the need for realistic, expressive piano samples. These are in fact the pianos we use the most at our studio for clients' recording projects. When you start working with ULTIMATE STEINWAY you'll understand why.

These are the most convincing pianos we have heard. Our samples sound like real pianos. They capture the soul of the original instruments. Both Steinway B and Steinway D pianos are represented.

Each sample set includes programs that provide a range of tone color variations and to create new timbres by layering the pianos with strings, pads, and other complimentary sounds.

CD Contents

Two versions of the long samples are included. In addition to the looped version, an unlooped version gives you a realistic rendering of the piano being allowed to decay to silence naturally, without a loop at the end to give it an artificial sustain.

Equalized and unequalized versions are included. All pianos are triple strike, meaning they were sampled at three velocity levels for true-to-life dynamic responses.
